This species of tuna, commonly known as “Alletteratus Tuna”, is found throughout the Mediterranean Sea, including the coastal waters of Italy, and can reach up to 1 m in length and 6 to 7 kg in weight.

It is a tuna with an intense and full-bodied flavour.

Excellent served as an appetizer or side dish, or added to the well-known "carrettiera" spaghetti.

The company's story began back in 1931, when the young Gaetano Adelfio, arriving from Palermo to Marzamemi, decided to settle in this small fishing village.

The factory was established in those years, during the Sicilian bluefin tuna fishing season, when tuna caught by mattanza were then salted. Along with tuna, sardines and anchovies were also caught and salted.

Since then, the company has continued to offer the traditional flavours of the past, believing in the inseparable link between culture, history, taste, tradition, and memory.
