The Thunnus Thynnus inhabits the Mediterranean Sea.

It is a species characterised by intensely pink flesh, firm texture, and a flavoursome taste.

Once caught, it is processed fresh at our facility, where the entire production cycle takes place—from piece selection and cleaning, to boiling and packaging—fully respecting the ancient artisanal tradition.

Like the pig, every part of the tuna is used.

The company's story began back in 1931, when the young Gaetano Adelfio, arriving from Palermo to Marzamemi, decided to settle in this small fishing village.

The factory was established in those years, during the traditional Sicilian bluefin tuna fishing season, where tuna caught by mattanza was then salted. Sardines and anchovies were also caught and salted alongside the tuna.

Since then, the company has continued to offer the old flavours of the past, believing in the inseparable link between culture, history, taste, tradition, and memory.
