Donna Rosa Moscato Passito IGP Sissiri
Donna Rosa is a Moscato Passito IGP made from White Muscat grapes, produced in Noto using a trellis system. It is hand-harvested in the second ten days of August, the grapes are dried and then macerated on the skins for six days, finally aged in steel tanks for six months. Excellent paired with desserts.
Sissiri is a wine story, as divine as the passion of those who have produced it since 1850. This story begins during the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, in Pachino, precisely thanks to Bartolo Andrea.
The entrepreneur built a small winery on the outskirts of the Pachino promontory, a tribute to the vinification of Nero d’Avola, the symbol of the cellar still active today. Over the decades, the charm of these grapes and their aromatic bouquet, the result of a skilful blend, has been passed down to Carlo Rampulla, the current young producer who, after leaving his studies and following the passing of his mother Lucia in 2012, decided to dedicate himself wholeheartedly to managing the family vineyards.
By his side is his father Vincenzo, always present and caring, a true master for the company. Carlo’s active commitment began as early as 2005, when he purchased about 4 hectares of land in Noto, in the Buonivini district, a special area for Nero d’Avola production.
Immersed in the vineyards and soils suited to viticulture, cultivated with the typical Sicilian bush vine technique, Carlo and his team began producing an extraordinary wine, and in 2015 reached an important milestone: the full conversion of the cultivation to organic farming.
