Passobianco is made from pure Chardonnay. The result is a rich, fresh, and multifaceted wine. Its complexity comes from the unique combination of light, temperature variation, and volcanic soil found only on Etna. Chardonnay adapts well to these conditions and evolves over time to create a wine with great ageing potential.

Andrea Franchetti leads two very different winemaking projects. The first was created from scratch at Tenuta di Trinoro, in a remote area of woods and abandoned fields in the far south of Tuscany. As challenging and demanding as this project was, it was soon followed by a second, equally important one on the slopes of Mount Etna, involving the recovery of old vineyards abandoned on the centuries-old terraces of the active Sicilian volcano. From both estates, Franchetti produces a rich and diverse portfolio of wines. Each wine expresses the characteristics of the vintage, the specificities of the territory, and the full potential of the grape variety used.
