The Cantaloupe is a melon with very sweet flesh, coloured orange/salmon.
Its season is always summer, and cultivation in the south-eastern areas of Sicily runs from May to July.
In Pachino it is called: "U Miluni Ri Ciauru" :)
Fresh and intensely flavoured, the Cantaloupe Melon is also excellent for making jams or for preparing melon-based desserts.
