A fruit with extraordinary beneficial properties, Bergamot is the "green gold" of Calabria, known and appreciated worldwide.
The origin of the fruit is unknown and it is believed to be a cultivated form, probably a hybrid.
Bergamot fruits have a sharp flavour and the primary use of this particular citrus is the extraction of its essence, which is sought after for the production of digestive juices.
It is also used in confectionery as a flavouring for sweets, candied fruit, nougat, ice cream, liqueurs, and soft drinks.
Also produced in Pachino, Verdurazon has selected Bergamot from our dear friend Salvatore Cultrera, whose farm, still in its early days, has already achieved excellent quality levels!
